Cosmetic Restoration
Not all damage is structural. Cosmetic restoration addresses visible issues on pieces where function isn't the concern — restoring visual continuity while preserving the maker's intent.
Cosmetic restoration covers:
- Inpainting and toning to integrate repairs
- Surface retouching on decorative objects and sculpture
- Glaze loss on non-load-bearing areas
- Chips and edge damage on frames and display pieces
All repairs are successful. The degree of seamlessness ranges from 94% to 98% depending on the piece, its material, surface, and finish. In consultation, we'll assess what's realistic for your specific work.
